Common Questions Asked:
When are the meetings?
Meetings are on the 2nd and 3rd Wednesday of every month.
What type of service opportunities will be offered?
Our service project for last year was taking a field trip to Suwanee Elementary and reading to the students as well as telling the kids why writing is fun!
What type of exposure will I obtain?
Throughout the year, various and multiple contest opportunities will be provided, allowing you to send out your work. Occasionally, you will also be given a chance to share your work with the club as well as the school. If you wanted to share you work with the club, you can publish it on the YAC Authors tab for all to see. The more you share, the better!
Will I get to meet any real authors or publishers?
Yes. One-two times a semester we will have an author visit in the CLC during lunch periods. The author will gladly answer any questions you have regarding their book, the publishing process, and life as an author. We encourage everyone to fully participate in the meetings for the experience and enlightenment. See the Event tab for more information.
How do I sign up?
To sign up, please see our sponsor Mrs. Deem in room 707.
She will give you more information and ask you to pay the club fee of $15 on MyPaymentsPlus under "writing club."
If you would like to get more information, you could email us or ask the club officers. Officer information is on the Contact tab.
What is a Write in?
A write in is a time for all group members to meet up and just.. write! We understand that in your busy lives you may not get the time to write as a leisure activity. So this is the time to just sit back and read, write or Beta read and share your stories with other YAC members.
